RETURN POLICY
AND TERMS OF SALE
IMPORTANT NOTICE
By placing an order with Maverick Drone Systems L.L.C. ("Company," "we," "us"), you ("Customer," "Buyer," "you") acknowledge that you have carefully read, fully understand, and unconditionally agree to be bound by this Return Policy, our Terms of Service, and all applicable laws. This Policy applies to all purchases made via our Website, phone, email, or any other channel. Products sold by Maverick Drone Systems are high-value technical unmanned systems; strict compliance with return conditions is required.
1 SCOPE, DEFINITIONS, AND GENERAL TERMS
This Return Policy governs the return, exchange, refund, and warranty handling of all products sold by Maverick Drone Systems L.L.C., including but not limited to unmanned aerial systems (UAS/drones), unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) including quadrupedal robots (quadrupeds) and humanoid robots, payloads, sensors, ground control stations, counter-UAS systems, unmanned surface vehicles (USVs), spare parts, accessories, and related equipment (collectively, "Products").
Key Definitions
- "Delivery" means the date the Product is delivered to the shipping address per carrier tracking records.
- "Unopened" means the factory seal is intact, the original packaging has not been opened or damaged, and the Product has never been removed from its packaging.
- "Opened" or "Used" means any Product where the packaging seal is broken, the item has been removed, powered on, batteries installed/charged, propellers or accessories attached, firmware updated in a manner indicating operational intent, registered with any regulatory authority, or shows any sign of handling, installation, wear, or use.
- "Like-New Resalable Condition" means the Product, in our sole and final determination after inspection, shows zero signs of use, retains all original factory packaging (undamaged), includes every original accessory, manual, cable, tag, sticker, and documentation, and can be resold as new without disclosure.
We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time. The version in effect at the time of order confirmation governs that purchase. Continued purchases after changes constitute acceptance of the updated Policy.
2 STANDARD RETURN PERIOD AND ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
Subject to the strict conditions below, Maverick Drone Systems accepts returns of eligible standard (non-Special Order) Products within fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of Delivery. All returns require prior written Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) — see Section 6. No exceptions for late requests.
2.1 Unopened Products (Buyer’s Remorse)
Unopened, factory-sealed Products may be returned for a full refund of the merchandise price (excluding original shipping, taxes, and fees) minus a flat $175.00 USD return/restocking fee. This fee covers inspection, administrative processing, repackaging, and restocking costs associated with high-value technical equipment. The Product must meet the "Unopened" definition above. Shipping charges (original and return) are non-refundable under all circumstances.
2.2 Opened or Previously Handled Products
Opened Products are eligible for return only at our sole discretion and only if they meet all of the following:
- Returned within the 14-day window and with valid RMA.
- Determined by us, after physical inspection at our facility, to be in Like-New Resalable Condition with no evidence of use, installation, flight, charging cycles beyond minimal factory test, scratches, marks, dents, or modifications of any kind.
- All original packaging, foam inserts, plastic bags, security tags, serial number stickers, holograms, manuals, quick-start guides, warranty cards, cables, batteries (if included), propellers (if included), SD cards, and every accessory must be included, undamaged, and in original condition.
- No firmware, software, or configuration changes have been made that would prevent immediate resale as a new unit.
- Subject to a twenty percent (20%) restocking fee calculated on the original merchandise purchase price (before tax/shipping). This fee is non-negotiable and reflects the significant depreciation in resale value and additional inspection/labor costs for opened technical equipment.
Our inspection determination is final, binding, and not subject to dispute.
If we determine the Product does not qualify, it will be returned to you (at your sole expense and risk) or held for thirty (30) days and then disposed of or scrapped with no refund or credit issued. You waive any claim to the Product or refund in such cases.
3 NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS AND EXCLUSIONS
The following categories are strictly non-returnable under any circumstances (including buyer's remorse, incompatibility, or change of mind). Requests for these items will be automatically denied:
- Special Orders, Custom, Made-to-Order, Configured, or Personalized Products — see detailed Special Order Policy in Section 4.
- Clearance, open-box, demo, refurbished, "as-is," liquidation, or discounted "final sale" items (unless expressly stated otherwise in writing at time of sale).
- Any Product with removed, altered, or damaged security tags, serial number plates, regulatory compliance labels, or factory seals.
- Software, firmware, digital licenses, activation codes, subscriptions, or any Product once downloaded, installed, activated, or registered.
- Batteries, propellers, gimbals, sensors, or other consumable/wear-and-tear components once the original packaging is opened or the item shows any sign of use or installation.
- Products that have been flown, driven, walked, or otherwise operated under power, deployed, had propellers, legs, wheels, or tracks installed or actuated, batteries inserted and charged for operational use, SD cards formatted/used, or otherwise placed into service (physical evidence, flight controller logs, or operational logs will disqualify).
- Products missing any original component, packaging element, or documentation.
- Items returned without a valid pre-issued RMA number clearly marked on the exterior of the shipping carton.
- International orders or orders shipped outside the contiguous United States (unless separate written agreement exists).
- Any Product for which the Customer cannot provide proof of purchase (original order confirmation or invoice).
Additionally, due to the safety-critical and regulated nature of unmanned systems, any Product showing evidence of use, modification, or regulatory registration is ineligible. Customer represents and warrants that they possess all required certifications (e.g., FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate where applicable) and will operate Products in full compliance with all laws.
4 SPECIAL ORDER, CUSTOM, AND MADE-TO-ORDER POLICY
This Special Order Policy applies to all custom, made-to-order, configured, personalized, or special-request Products and services purchased through maverickdrone.com or any associated channel.
4.1 Definition of Special Orders
A "Special Order" includes, without limitation:
- Custom-configured unmanned aerial systems (UAS), unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) including quadrupeds and humanoids, payloads, sensors, ground stations, or complete unmanned systems built to Customer specifications.
- Personalized, engraved, or branded equipment.
- Bundled or modified systems assembled or procured specifically for the Customer.
- Non-standard colors, firmware branches, software configurations, payloads, or accessories not part of standard inventory.
- Any item marked "Special Order," "Custom," "Made to Order," "Built to Spec," or similar on the product page, quote, or during checkout.
- Orders requiring special procurement, manufacturing lead time, third-party customization, or assembly outside our standard stocked inventory.
4.2 All Sales Are Final — No Cancellations, Returns, or Refunds
ALL SPECIAL ORDERS ARE FINAL.
Once an order is placed and payment is processed, no cancellations, returns, refunds, exchanges, or credits of any kind are permitted, regardless of reason (including but not limited to buyer's remorse, change of mind, incorrect option selection, discovered incompatibility, failure to read specifications, or change in project requirements).
By completing a Special Order purchase, Customer expressly acknowledges and agrees that:
- The item(s) are procured, configured, or manufactured specifically for the Customer based on their unique selections and specifications.
- Maverick Drone Systems and its suppliers/manufacturers immediately incur significant, non-recoverable costs, commitments, and production obligations upon order confirmation.
- Customer has independently reviewed, understood, and confirmed all technical specifications, compatibility requirements, power needs, software/firmware versions, regulatory implications, and operational suitability prior to purchase.
- No right of return or cancellation exists under this Policy or applicable law for Special Orders (to the maximum extent permitted).
4.3 Limited Exceptions (Sole Discretion of Company Only)
We may, at our absolute and sole discretion and on a case-by-case basis, consider limited exceptions before production or procurement has commenced:
- Order cancellation prior to the start of production/procurement, subject to a minimum twenty-five percent (25%) cancellation/restocking fee of the total order value (plus any non-recoverable supplier costs already incurred).
- Replacement of a genuinely defective item covered under the applicable manufacturer's warranty (Customer remains responsible for all shipping costs to and from the manufacturer or our facility).
No exceptions, refunds, or returns will be granted for: buyer's remorse, change of mind, incorrect specification selection, post-purchase discovery of incompatibility, failure to review product descriptions or datasheets, project cancellation, or any other reason not explicitly listed above.
4.4 Payment, Confirmation, and Timeline
Full payment is required at time of order. Once payment clears and order confirmation email is sent, this Special Order Policy is immediately and irrevocably in effect. Production or procurement typically begins within 1–3 business days. Estimated lead times are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed; delays do not create cancellation rights.
4.5 Warranty on Special Orders
Special Orders remain covered solely by the manufacturer's standard limited warranty (if any). Warranty service does not include return shipping, cancellation rights, or refund. See manufacturer's warranty documentation for details. Maverick Drone Systems facilitates warranty claims where practicable but assumes no additional liability.
5 DEFECTIVE, DAMAGED, OR INCORRECT ITEMS
5.1 Items Damaged in Transit or Incorrect Items Received
If you receive a Product that is visibly damaged in transit, missing components, or is the incorrect item, you must notify our Customer Support within forty-eight (48) hours of Delivery (maximum five (5) business days) via email to support@maverickdrone.com or phone 612.808.9838, providing clear photographs and/or video of the damage, packaging, and contents. For severe box damage, refuse delivery at the time of attempted delivery and immediately contact us.
Upon timely and valid notification with evidence, we will, at our option: (a) arrange a replacement shipment at no additional cost to you, (b) issue a full refund including original shipping, or (c) provide a partial credit. We cover reasonable return shipping in these cases only. Claims after the 5-business-day window or without adequate evidence will be treated as standard returns (subject to fees and condition requirements) or denied.
5.2 Defective Products (Manufacturer Warranty)
Maverick Drone Systems is a reseller and not the manufacturer of the Products we sell. Accordingly, all claims for defects in materials, workmanship, or performance are governed exclusively by the applicable manufacturer's limited warranty.
We have no obligation to accept returns of defective Products after the standard 14-day return window, nor do we provide refunds for defects.
Customer's sole remedy for a defective Product is to contact the manufacturer directly using the warranty information provided with the Product or on the manufacturer's website. We will, upon request, provide the manufacturer's contact information and assist with initial claim initiation or RMA coordination to the extent reasonably practicable. Shipping costs to the manufacturer (and return if repaired/replaced) are the Customer's responsibility unless the manufacturer expressly covers them.
We disclaim all liability for defective Products, including but not limited to consequential damages, lost time, project delays, regulatory issues, or injury arising from use or inability to use a Product. By purchasing, you acknowledge this limitation and agree that your exclusive remedy lies with the manufacturer under its warranty terms.
6 MANDATORY RETURN AUTHORIZATION (RMA) PROCEDURE
No Product will be accepted for return, exchange, or credit without a pre-issued RMA number.
Unauthorized shipments will be refused at our dock, returned to sender at your sole expense and risk, or held for thirty (30) days and then disposed of with no refund or liability to us.
Required Steps to Initiate a Return:
Contact our Returns Department before the 14-day window expires
Email support@maverickdrone.com or call 612.808.9838. Provide your order number, Product model/serial, detailed reason for return, and photographs of the Product and packaging (especially for opened/condition claims).
Receive your RMA number
Our team will evaluate eligibility and, if approved, issue a unique RMA number via email along with specific return shipping instructions and address (typically our Savage, MN facility).
Ship the Product within seven (7) calendar days of RMA issuance
RMA expires after this period. Use a reputable carrier with full-value insurance and tracking. Clearly mark the RMA number on the outside of the shipping carton in large, legible text.
Include the following inside the package:
- A copy of the original packing slip/invoice
- The RMA approval email
- All original documentation and accessories
- A brief written explanation of the issue
Risk of loss during return transit
Customer bears all risk of loss, theft, or damage during return transit until the package is physically received, signed for, and inspected by our personnel at our facility. We recommend insuring for the full original purchase price.
Inspection and processing typically takes five (5) to ten (10) business days after we receive the package. You will be notified via email of the inspection outcome and any applicable fees or refund amount. Refunds (if approved) are issued to the original payment method within an additional five (5) to ten (5) business days after approval.
7 SHIPPING RESPONSIBILITIES, RISK OF LOSS, AND APPLICABLE FEES
Original outbound shipping charges are never refundable, including promotional "free shipping" offers. Return shipping is always the Customer's responsibility and expense, except in cases of our error (wrong item shipped, confirmed transit damage caused by us) where we will provide a prepaid return label or reimburse reasonable documented costs.
Refusal of Delivery
If you refuse delivery for any reason other than visible severe damage to the shipping container (documented at time of delivery), you remain fully responsible for all original outbound shipping, return shipping, handling, and restocking fees. A credit (minus these costs) may be issued at our discretion after the package is returned to us and inspected.
Incorrect Shipping Address
If a package is returned to us because you provided an incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable address, you are responsible for all additional shipping, storage, and re-delivery fees. Even if the original shipment qualified for free shipping, re-shipment will incur standard freight charges.
Risk of Loss
Title and risk of loss pass to Customer upon delivery to the carrier for outbound shipments. For returns, risk remains with Customer until the package is received and accepted by our warehouse staff. We are not liable for packages lost, stolen, or damaged in return transit.
8 REFUND PROCESSING AND TIMELINES
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. Credit card refunds typically post within 5–10 business days after processing, depending on your card issuer. Store credit or gift cards may be offered at our sole discretion in certain circumstances and expire according to their terms. No cash, wire, or check refunds unless required by law.
Partial refunds may be issued in cases of missing accessories, damaged packaging, or other condition issues even if the main Product is accepted. We reserve the right to deduct the cost of missing or damaged components from any refund.
9 LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, DISCLAIMERS, AND INDEMNIFICATION
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW
Products are provided "AS IS" except for any applicable manufacturer's limited warranty. MAVERICK DRONE SYSTEMS L.L.C., ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT.
We do not warrant that Products will meet your specific requirements, be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
IN NO EVENT SHALL MAVERICK DRONE SYSTEMS L.L.C. BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, OR ENHANCED DAMAGES
including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunity, goodwill, or cost of substitute goods/services, regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise) and whether or not advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to any Product or this Policy shall not exceed the actual purchase price paid by Customer for the specific Product giving rise to the claim.
Customer agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Maverick Drone Systems L.L.C. and its officers, directors, employees, agents, suppliers, and licensors from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) Customer's use, misuse, or inability to use any Product; (b) Customer's failure to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or safety requirements (including FAA, DHS, or export controls); (c) any injury to persons or property resulting from operation of Products; or (d) any breach of this Policy or our Terms of Service by Customer.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the minimum extent permitted by law. This limitation is a fundamental basis of the bargain between the parties.
10 GOVERNING LAW, VENUE, AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
This Return Policy and any dispute arising out of or relating to it or the Products shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) does not apply.
Exclusive Venue
Any legal action or proceeding arising under this Policy shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Scott County or Hennepin County, Minnesota. Customer hereby irrevocably consents to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts and waives any objection based on forum non conveniens or otherwise.
Dispute Resolution
Customer agrees that any dispute resolution shall be on an individual basis only; class actions, class arbitrations, representative actions, or consolidated proceedings are not permitted. If binding arbitration is required or elected under any separate agreement, it shall be administered by a mutually agreed neutral arbitrator in Minneapolis, Minnesota, under Minnesota law, with each party bearing its own costs unless the arbitrator determines otherwise. The prevailing party in any dispute shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorneys' fees and costs from the other party.
11 MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS
Entire Agreement
This Return Policy, together with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and any written sales quote or order confirmation, constitutes the entire agreement between the parties concerning returns and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous agreements, representations, warranties, and understandings, whether written or oral. No modification of this Policy is valid unless in writing and signed by an authorized officer of Maverick Drone Systems L.L.C.
Severability
If any provision of this Policy is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or if modification is not possible, severed. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Waiver
No failure or delay by Maverick Drone Systems in exercising any right under this Policy shall constitute a waiver of that right. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by us to be effective. A waiver of one breach does not constitute a waiver of any subsequent breach.
Assignment
Customer may not assign or transfer any rights or obligations under this Policy without our prior written consent. We may assign this Policy and our rights hereunder without restriction.
Notices
All notices under this Policy must be in writing and delivered by email with read receipt, certified mail (return receipt requested), or overnight courier to the addresses below. Notices are effective upon actual receipt or three (3) business days after mailing, whichever is earlier.
