The QYSEA Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge (UTG) is a professional non-destructive testing (NDT) payload engineered for QYSEA commercial ROVs. Mounted to the FIFISH PRO W6, E-Series, or X1, it enables operators to precisely measure metal wall thickness and detect internal corrosion on submerged structures — ship hulls, offshore platforms, subsea pipelines, and marine infrastructure — without dry docking, physical intervention, or taking assets out of service.

What It Does

The UTG transmits ultrasonic pulses through metal surfaces and measures the time-of-flight return to calculate wall thickness from a single side of the structure. This makes it possible to assess corrosion, erosion, and material loss on submerged assets in real time, directly from the ROV — delivering inspection data that would otherwise require costly and time-consuming dry dock operations.
