Corona discharge is a weak UV signature thrown off by failing insulators and stressed conductors, invisible to the naked eye until the equipment is already failing. Maverick's drone-carried UV imaging payloads catch it from the air, often years before a manual inspection would.
DAYTIME-RATED, NOT DUSK-ONLY
Most UV corona cameras only work after dark. Maverick's payloads use solar-blind filtering, so flights happen on your schedule, not the sun's.
A narrow solar-blind UV filter cuts out sunlight interference, so the camera reads corona discharge in full daylight instead of waiting for a maintenance window after dark.
Discharge intensity is measured in photon counts, not just flagged on a screen, so a fault can be tracked and prioritized over time instead of re-inspected from scratch.
Corona detection and standard visual inspection happen in the same pass, on the same airframe, so crews aren't flying the same line twice.
