By paying a Maverick rental quote or invoice, signing for, picking up or receiving rental equipment, you agree to these Rental Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to every rental from Maverick Drone Systems L.L.C. ("Maverick," "we," "us"), including drones, payloads, sensors, robots, accessories and any related services, whether booked through our website, by phone, by email or in person. If you do not agree, do not pay the invoice or take possession of the equipment.

Your quote or invoice lists the specific equipment, rental dates, rates, deposit and any delivery or operator services. If your quote or invoice conflicts with these terms, the quote or invoice controls for that rental.

1. Definitions

  • "Customer" or "you" means the person or organization named on the quote or invoice, and anyone who uses the Equipment on your behalf.
  • "Equipment" means everything we rent to you, including aircraft, robots, payloads, sensors, batteries, chargers, controllers, cases, cables, software licenses and accessories.
  • "Rental Period" has the meaning in Section 2.
  • "Replacement Value" means the current price to buy new, equivalent Equipment from Maverick, including any accessories, at the time of loss.

2. Rental Period

The Rental Period is the set of dates shown on your quote or invoice. Unless your invoice says otherwise:

  • For pickups, the Rental Period starts when you pick up the Equipment and ends when it is returned to our Savage, MN facility.
  • For shipped rentals, the Rental Period starts on the scheduled start date and ends on the scheduled return date. Equipment must be shipped back (tracking shows it in the carrier's possession) no later than the first business day after the final rental day.
  • A rental day is any calendar day or part of a day. Weekly and monthly rates apply only to consecutive days.
  • Extensions must be approved by Maverick in writing and are billed at our current rates. Equipment that is returned late without an approved extension is billed at the daily rate for each additional day until it is returned.
  • There are no refunds or credits for early returns or for days the Equipment is not used.

3. Rates, Payment & Deposits

  • Rental fees, shipping, deposit and any service charges are due in full before Equipment ships or is picked up, unless your invoice states other terms.
  • Prices do not include applicable sales or use taxes, which are added to your invoice.
  • Refundable deposit. Most rentals require a refundable security deposit. The deposit is not a limit on your responsibility. Once we receive the Equipment back and inspect it, we may apply the deposit to late fees, cleaning, missing items, damage, loss or other amounts owed under these terms, and we refund any remaining balance to your original payment method.
  • You authorize Maverick to charge the payment method used for your rental, or to invoice you, for any amounts owed under these terms that exceed the deposit. Invoices for these charges are due on receipt.

4. Cancellations & Changes

  • You may cancel before the Equipment ships or is picked up for a refund of rental fees and deposit, less any shipping, handling or third-party costs we have already incurred.
  • Once Equipment has shipped or been picked up, rental fees are non-refundable.
  • Changes to dates, equipment or quantities are subject to availability and may change your price.
  • If Equipment becomes unavailable for reasons outside our control, we will offer comparable equipment, new dates, or a full refund of amounts paid for the affected Equipment. That refund is your sole remedy.

5. Shipping, Pickup & Returns

Receiving the Equipment

  • Inspect the Equipment when you receive it. Report any missing items, shipping damage or problems within 24 hours of receipt, with photos, to sales@maverickdrone.com or 612.808.9838. If we don't hear from you, the Equipment is treated as received complete and in good working condition.
  • Risk of loss passes to you when the Equipment leaves our facility (handed to the carrier or picked up) and stays with you until we receive it back.

Returning the Equipment

  • Return all Equipment in its original cases, packed the way you received it, with all batteries, accessories, cables and documentation.
  • Unless we provide a return label, you pay return shipping. Use a trackable carrier and insure the shipment for the full Replacement Value. Damage from improper packing is your responsibility.
  • Batteries must be shipped in accordance with carrier and DOT hazardous materials rules. Do not ship swollen, leaking or damaged batteries; contact us first.

6. Use of Equipment

You agree that the Equipment will be used safely, lawfully and only by qualified people. Specifically:

  • Operators. Only you and trained, competent operators you authorize may operate the Equipment. You are responsible for their actions.
  • Drones. All flights must comply with FAA regulations and all applicable federal, state and local laws. Commercial flights require a remote pilot holding a current FAA Part 107 certificate. You are responsible for airspace authorizations, waivers, Remote ID compliance, permits and property-owner permissions.
  • Robots. Robots must be supervised by an operator at all times while powered on. You are responsible for safe operating space, crowd control, barriers and venue rules, especially around the public and children.
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions and operating limits, including weather, temperature, water exposure and payload limits.
  • Do not modify, disassemble, repair, or update firmware or software on the Equipment beyond normal operation unless we approve it.
  • Do not sublease, lend, sell or pledge the Equipment, or take it outside the United States, without our written approval. You are responsible for complying with export control laws.
  • Do not use the Equipment for any unlawful, unsafe or reckless purpose, or in any way that could void a manufacturer warranty.

7. Damage, Loss & Theft

From the time the Equipment leaves our facility until we receive it back, you are responsible for all damage, loss and theft, whatever the cause, other than normal wear and tear.

  • Report incidents right away. Tell us within 24 hours of any crash, collision, fall, water exposure, malfunction or damage. Stop using damaged Equipment and return all parts, including broken ones.
  • Theft. Report theft to law enforcement and to us within 24 hours, and send us a copy of the police report.
  • Repairs. Damaged Equipment is billed at the actual cost of repair (by Maverick or the manufacturer), including parts, labor, diagnostics and shipping.
  • Loss or total damage. Lost, stolen or unrepairable Equipment is billed at its Replacement Value. Missing accessories are billed at their replacement cost.
  • Loss of use. We may charge the daily rental rate for each day the Equipment is out of service for repair or replacement, up to 30 days.
  • Equipment returned excessively dirty, wet or contaminated may be billed a reasonable cleaning fee.

8. Insurance

  • You are responsible for insuring the Equipment for its full Replacement Value while it is in your care, and for carrying liability insurance appropriate for your use, including aviation liability for drone operations.
  • We may require a certificate of insurance before the Equipment ships, and may require Maverick Drone Systems L.L.C. to be named as loss payee and/or additional insured.
  • Your insurance does not reduce your responsibility under these terms, and our insurance does not cover you or your use of the Equipment.

9. Operator & On-Site Services

  • On-site operators, delivery, setup, training and other services are available on request and are quoted separately.
  • You agree to provide a safe work area, reasonable access, and the power, space and venue approvals needed for the services.
  • Maverick personnel may decline to operate, or stop operating, the Equipment at any time if they believe conditions are unsafe or unlawful. Service fees still apply in that case.

10. Equipment Condition & Malfunctions

  • We check and charge Equipment before it ships. Rental Equipment may show normal cosmetic wear from prior use.
  • If Equipment does not work properly through no fault of yours, contact us right away. We will troubleshoot with you and, at our option, provide replacement Equipment or credit the rental fees for the affected Equipment and days. That is your sole remedy for malfunctions.
  • Except as stated in this section, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Equipment is rented "as is," and Maverick disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

11. Data & Media

  • You are responsible for copying your data, photos, video, logs and project files before returning the Equipment.
  • We may erase all data and media storage and reset the Equipment to factory settings when it is returned. We are not responsible for any data left on the Equipment.
  • Do not load unlicensed, malicious or unlawful content onto the Equipment.

12. Liability & Indemnification

  • You assume all risks arising from the possession, transport and use of the Equipment during the rental, including injury to people and damage to property.
  • You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Maverick Drone Systems L.L.C. and its owners, employees and agents from all claims, damages, fines, penalties, losses and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your possession or use of the Equipment, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or regulation, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maverick is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, event or project delays, lost data or the cost of substitute equipment.
  • Maverick's total liability for any claim relating to a rental will not exceed the rental fees you paid for that rental.

13. Ownership & Non-Return

  • The Equipment remains Maverick's property at all times. You will keep it free of liens and claims and will not remove or cover any labels, serial numbers or asset tags.
  • If the Equipment is not returned within 7 days after the end of the Rental Period and you have not arranged an extension, we may treat it as lost or converted, charge its Replacement Value plus accrued rental fees, report it to law enforcement and take any lawful action to recover it.
  • You will pay our reasonable costs of collection and recovery, including attorneys' fees.

14. Governing Law & General Terms

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any legal action relating to a rental must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Scott County or Hennepin County, Minnesota, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
  • These terms, together with your quote or invoice and our Terms of Service, are the entire agreement for your rental. Our Return Policy and Terms of Sale applies to purchases, not rentals.
  • If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver.
  • We may update these terms at any time. The version posted on this page when you pay your quote or invoice applies to that rental.
