Overview

The SPH Engineering UgCS Basics (Trainer Lead) training is the recommended first course for all new UgCS users and Integrated Systems operators. Combining self-paced pre-recorded video lessons with a live trainer-led Zoom session, it covers UgCS installation, simple and photogrammetry mission planning, DJI drone connection, flight simulation, UgCS Mapper for orthophoto and DSM generation, data import/export, offline operations, and vehicle profile management — in up to 4 hours, for groups of up to 4 students. The prerequisite foundation for all advanced UgCS and payload training courses.

UgCS Foundations. Mission Planning to Photogrammetry.
The UgCS Basics (Trainer Lead) course covers the complete foundational UgCS skill set in up to 4 hours — from software installation and interface orientation through simple mission planning, DJI drone connection via the UgCS for DJI Android app, flight simulation for pre-flight validation, photogrammetry mission planning, and UgCS Mapper for orthophoto and DSM generation. Students also learn KML and telemetry import/export, offline operations, vehicle profile configuration, and route management. The in-person practical exercise includes executing a live photogrammetry mission and importing the resulting map and elevation data back into UgCS. This course is the prerequisite for all advanced UgCS and Integrated Systems training.

Photogrammetry & UgCS Mapper. Map and Elevation Data from Day One. Students learn to plan photogrammetry missions and use UgCS Mapper to generate orthophoto maps and Digital Surface Models (DSM) — then import the resulting map and elevation data back into UgCS for terrain-aware mission planning. The practical exercise reinforces these skills with a live mission in Balozi airspace (in-person sessions).

Pre-Recorded + Live Trainer. Flexible, Effective Learning. The blended format combines self-paced pre-recorded video lessons with a live trainer-led Zoom session — allowing students to build foundational knowledge at their own pace before the interactive session, maximizing the value of live trainer time for questions, simulation exercises, and practical guidance.

The Required Foundation. For Every Advanced Course. UgCS Basics is the prerequisite for all SPH Engineering advanced training courses — including UgCS AreaScan and True Terrain Following Missions, Methane Leak Detection Using Drone, and all payload-specific training. Completing this course ensures operators have the UgCS foundation required to get full value from every subsequent training investment.

El curso de formación consta de:

Prerrequisitos:

Aprendices debe tener Al menos experiencia en vuelo manual de drones, incluyendo despegue y aterrizaje manuales.   • Simulación de una misión utilizando un dron DJI en el modo de simulación de vuelo
  • Visualización de la telemetría guardada
  • Planificación de misiones de fotogrametría
  • Uso de UgCS Mapper para generar mapas de ortofotos y DSM, e importarlos nuevamente a UgCS
  • Importación/exportación de KML, mapas, misiones, rutas, telemetría
  • Trabajar sin conexión (sin internet)
  • Ejercicio práctico (si la capacitación se brinda en persona): ejecutar una misión de fotogrametría y producir datos de mapas y elevación para un área de capacitación en el espacio aéreo de Balozi, luego importar el mapa y la elevación nuevamente a UgCS
  • Perfiles de vehículos
  • Operaciones con ruta (duplicado, ruta a waypoints, etc.)
