The SPH Engineering FluX Methane Core Sensor is a UAV-integrated single-gas CH4 sensor delivering in-situ methane concentration measurements at 2 Hz. Operating by direct contact with the ambient air mass surrounding the drone, it provides close-proximity leak detection and emissions mapping capabilities that complement remote laser-based methane detectors — with georeferenced, timestamped data acquisition via SkyHub and real-time UgCS monitoring for pipeline inspection, landfill surveys, and environmental compliance operations.

In-Situ CH4 Detection. 2 Hz. Georeferenced.
The FluX Methane Core Sensor delivers direct, contact-based methane concentration measurements at 2 Hz — two readings per second — by sampling the ambient air mass surrounding the drone in real time. Unlike remote laser detectors that measure from altitude, the FluX sensor operates at close proximity to the source, making it the ideal tool for low-altitude pipeline inspection, leak confirmation passes, and detailed emissions mapping where spatial resolution and measurement confidence are critical. Integrated with the SkyHub onboard computer, CH4 concentration data is captured continuously, timestamped, and georeferenced with UAV GPS position — producing gas concentration maps ready for GIS analysis and regulatory reporting.

Single-Gas CH4. Focused Detection. No Interference. The FluX sensor is dedicated exclusively to methane (CH4) — providing focused, high-confidence gas concentration measurements without multi-gas interference or cross-sensitivity from other compounds in the environment. Every reading is a CH4 reading.

2 Hz Sampling. High Temporal Resolution. At 2 measurements per second, the FluX sensor captures continuous, high-temporal-resolution CH4 concentration data throughout the survey flight — ensuring no leak event is missed between measurement intervals, even at typical UAV survey speeds.

Georeferenced Gas Maps. Regulatory-Ready from Landing. CH4 concentration data is captured with synchronized GPS position throughout the mission via SkyHub — producing georeferenced gas maps that integrate directly into GIS platforms and reporting workflows for pipeline integrity documentation, environmental compliance, and regulatory submissions.

The SPH Engineering FluX Methane Core Sensor is a UAV-integrated single-gas methane (CH4) sensor designed for in-situ aerial gas detection at a 2 Hz sampling rate. Unlike laser-based remote methane detectors that measure gas concentrations from altitude, the FluX sensor operates by drawing ambient air through the sensor element — providing direct, contact-based methane concentration measurements in the air mass surrounding the drone. Designed for integration with the SkyHub onboard computer, it delivers georeferenced, timestamped CH4 concentration data for pipeline leak detection, landfill emissions mapping, and environmental compliance surveys.
